Doing Business in Russia for Texas Business School students
11 Texas Business School undergraduate students arrived to Russia in mid-May. Within the four weeks of the programme, the students attended a course of lectures developed by MSU BS teachers, took three company visits, had a trip to St. Petersburg and enjoyed the best sightseeing attractions of the two capitals.
The company visits included those to Belaya Dacha (the exclusive supplier of salad for McDonalds). During this visit the participants learned more about the company’s strategy and took a tour around the production facilities. The next trip was to John Deer, an American manufacturer. The students had an opportunity to talk to the experts from various departments of the plant while discussing the features of operation of an American company in Russia. In addition, the students had an opportunity to examine the new models of tractors and harvesting machines that are assembling at the Russian plant. The last visit was to Baltika brewery in St. Petersburg. There the American students had a meeting with the senior brand manager of the company, visited the production facilities and had a chance to taste popular sorts of Russian beer.
