April 2013 saw a series of presentations of research projects by MSU BS Master students. Within a period of 4 months, from November 2012 to early April 2103, the students were carrying out their research projects as part of the research practice programme. The projects were performed based on companies requests and were focused on finding solutions to the burning real-life management problems faced by the companies. The list of companies studied in the research projects includes Accor Hotels, Jones Lang LaSalle, John Deere, 3M, Meridian Partners, Pososhok.ru.
The range of problems dealt with in the projects includes those in the field of commercial real estate; consulting and outsourcing services; online ticket sales; hotel and chemical cleaning services.
In their projects the students developed managerial solutions and recommendations for the companies in the following areas: optimisation and automation of management reporting, analysis of the impact of the expanding boundaries of the cities on development of commercial real estate market; promotion of the employer brand awareness; analysis of needs of Russian innovative start-ups in obtaining educational, informational and infrastructural support; assessment of the market potential of a new product; analysis of Russian and international online ticket sales market; effective positioning and promotion of the company's services on the Internet.
Based on the quality of the research projects and presentations, the best-performers were offered a job or received an offer to continue cooperation on other ongoing projects of the company.
Senior representatives of the companies and the faculty members who were supervising the research projects noted the high quality and practical value of the projects. Some of the companies have already started introducing organizational changes based on the presented projects.
