An interdisciplinary collaboration between the Lomonosov MSU Business School and the Faculty of Biotechnology at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) is shaping the next generation of top entrepreneurs.
Students from both faculties have spent three months participating in a joint course on biotechnology entrepreneurship. Their goal: to acquire the skills needed to successfully launch and build a business in the biotech sector. The practical part of the course, carried out with the support of SPLAT Global, is part of the Entrepreneurs’ University workshop.
On November 29, students presented the results of their work at an open pitching session at the Lomonosov Cluster. Competing teams consisted of participants from leading Moscow universities, including Skoltech, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Sechenov University, NRNU MEPhI, and MSU.
Each team introduced their project, outlining its objectives, target audience, implementation plan, and prospects for growth. The challenge was not only to present a product, but also to convince the jury of its practical applicability and real-world value.
The expert jury, composed of seasoned entrepreneurs and strategic investors, provided real-time feedback, highlighting strengths and suggesting areas for improvement. This interactive format offered students a hands-on experience in public speaking and pitching, while helping them refine their projects for the future.
First place went to the team from the MSU Business School and the Faculty of Biotechnology, for their project: a unique line of oral-care products with both toning and soothing effects.
The team included:
Team leaders Maria Rukavishnikova and Marta Pivovarova delivered a clear and professional presentation, showcasing the results of extensive interdisciplinary collaboration, where every member contributed to the project’s success.
We congratulate our students on this well-deserved achievement and look forward to seeing more innovative initiatives emerging from the Entrepreneurs’ University workshop!
