Delegation of MSUBS Participates in APAIE International Conference in India

28.03.2025

The impressive range of negative environmental impacts that clothing industry is responsible for is well known. It produces the second-biggest negative environmental footprint after the oil industry. What shall be done to change people’s mindset and behaviour and promote a more well-balanced distribution of material goods? How entrepreneurs can initiate new discourses of urban life? The issues of sustainable fashion and conscious consumerism were addressed at the lecture of prof. Tatiana Zadirako, the head of the «Social Incubator» charity foundation.

In addition to teaching, Tatiana Gavrilovna collects vintage clothing and also gives lectures on fashion of 1940s -1950s. Opting for vintage is one of the ways to embark on a path to responsible consumption. Moreover, this method of extending the life of things does not harm their aesthetics. On the contrary, vintage clothes always tell their own story, which means they provide opportunities for individual style and self-expression.

The lecture ended with a fashion show of vintage clothes from Tatiana Zadirako’s collection. MSUBS students and faculty served as models.

The lecture was attended by over a hundred people. Hopefully, the event will raise awareness among the university community on the slow fashion trend and will promote environmentally friendly behaviour.
