Japanese robotics engineer Tomotaka Takahashi holds a workshop at MSUBS

On 26 April, 2018, Lomonosov MSUBS organized a workshop be famous Japanese robotics engineer, founder of the ROBOGARAGE.Co. Ltd. Mr. Tomotaka Takahashi.

Tomotaka Takahashi creates, designs, and invents unique and original robots. He has become the winner of international "RoboCup" competition forfive years in a row, and also is a three-time record holder of the Guinness Book of Records. In 2004 г. his robot was included in the list of “100 amazing inventions” according to the Time magazine, and the “Popular Science” magazine has included Takahashi-san in the list of "33 people who will change the future."

The most famous robots designed by Tomotaka Takahashi are robot-phone "RoBoHoN", robot-cosmonaut "Kirobo", "EVOLTA", which has climbed to the top of Grand Canyon, and many others. Moreover, Tomotaka Takahashi is an associate professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo, a visiting professor at the Osaka Telecommunications University, a member of GLOBERIDE, Inc., a robot course advisor at the Human Academy in Japan.

Takahashi-san shared with the workshop  participants the story of becoming an entrepreneur: after graduation from the University of Kyoto in 2003 he founded the company Robogarage.Co., Ltd. The company became the first venture on the campus and is still very successful.  And of course, Tomotaka Takahashi  demonstrated his  robots, including  the new one –  a pocket robot with a phone. MSUBS students who visited the workshop were impressed with the new technologies and Tomotaka Takahashi’s passion for bringing his ideas into reality.
