MSUBS alumni is now the general director of VKontakte social network
MSU BS master programme graduate Boris Dobrodeev has recently been appointed as General director of the Russian leading social network VKontakte (VK).
VKontanke (literally “in touch”) was launched in September 2006 but within several years became the largest social network in Europe, particularly popular among Russian-speaking users around the world, especially in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. Like other social networks, VK allows users to exchange messages with their contacts publicly or privately, create groups, public pages and events, share and tag images, audio and video, and play browser-based games. 260 bln. users are registered at VKontakte and about 60 bln. users visit the service every day.
Boris Dobrodeev has graduated in 2009 having completed the master programme with distinction and with the highest average performance score. His final thesis was named the best among the theses from all the cohorts graduating in 2009. For his excellent academic achievements Boris was awarded an MSU BS golden badge. Only 23 most diligent graduates from about 2000 MSU BS alumni have received this prestigious award till now.
