Prof. A Damodaran of Indian Institute of Management visits Lomonosov MSU Business School
On November 22, 2013, Prof. A Damodaran led a master class at Lomonosov MSU Business School on Comparative Study of FDI Policies and Competitieness of India, China, and Russia for select sectors.
A Damodaran is Professor of Economics and Social Sciences and the head of Department of Intellectual Property Management at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Не received his doctorate from the University of Kerala (India). His international consulting experience includes cooperation with the World Bank, Asian development Bank, UNDP, UNEP, ESCAP, DFID and GIZ.
Prof. Damodaran has been intensively involved in the sphere of financing environmental protection, acting as a consultant for the Indian Ministries of Finance, Energy, and Environment and Forests.
During the master class, Prof. Damodaran presented a detailed analysis of the economies of the three countries - Russia, India and China - considering the main economic indicators of these countries. He spoke about the increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) and GDP, as well as inflows of FDI into various sectors of the national economies. Special attention was paid to the IT industry, with a comparative overview of the remuneration in this industry by countries of the world presented. Besides, it was noted that the dependence of the Russian economy on energy sources is gradually decreasing.
