In the beginning of February an MBA SCM student group from ETH Zürich participated in Doing Business in Russia programme developed by the Lomonosov MSU Business School. Within one week 25 students took part in the classes from MSU BS leading professors, met the business professional and visited companies trying to understand the most important and tricky do`s and don’ts of running the business in Russia.
Master-classes and workshops from the business professionals and experts are one of the most important parts of the programme. So that the MBA SCM programm focuses on logistics issues, also Lomonosov MSU BS invited the most important Russian and international experts to share their experiences in this field.
Though, the Logist-ICS leading expert Olga Gryaznova gave an overview of the Russian transport-logistics system (the workshop was organized with the support of International Academy of Corporate Education MAKO). The logistics system of the international publishing house and tips about running business from the point of view of an expatriate presented the GM of the De Agostini Russia publishing house Nikos Skylakis. A detailed summary about the key points in the legal environment of business and entrepreneurship in Russia made a professional team of Baker&McKenzie lawyers.
Two company visits were organized. While visiting the Japan Tobacco International company students got an opportunity not only to discuss current issues of international company development in Russia and its logistic infrastructure with company`s experts, but also to have a guided production tour, where they were able to see how the company’s philosophy and kaizen principles are integrated into the everyday life of the factory. The group also visited Knauf factory where a set of master-classes and workshops explaining the refinements of running business in Russia were presented by the company`s professionals as well as guided site-tour was organised.
